It should ring an alarm for all people who are seriously thinking that Palin is a good choice for VP.The Daily Fuelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12636581068441603099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7697320.post-56276822743342572722008-09-15T07:42:00.000-06:002008-09-15T07:42:00.000-06:00Yesterday on ABC's "This Week," George Will made a...Yesterday on ABC's "This Week," George Will made a claim right in line with Krauthammer's--he claimed that there are three distinct things that can rightly be called "the Bush Doctrine" and then said, "So I guess I would have flunked that quiz too" (or something to that effect).

As far as I'm concerned, his point was irrelevant. She wants to be VP; she should at least have a ballpark idea of what Gibson was talking about (Will obviously did). Instead, she was clueless. It is clear that this is not a person who spends her free time reading *Foreign Affairs.*

What I kept thinking the whole time Gibson was interviewing her was how much like George Bush she seems to be. If she is to be believed, she "didn't blink" when she was asked to be VP, has not a shred of self-doubt about her qualifications to be VP, and is completely firm in all of convictions--all the while demonstrating no significant knowledge of policy, current events, or even the structure of the federal government.

This "Bushy" impression was reinforced by the article in the Sunday NYT. She surrounds herself with people she has long known but who are not particularly well experienced to do the job to which she appoints them, emphasizes the importance of loyalty, and runs her office in secrecy. Sounds familiar, eh?Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05074257624733067171noreply@blogger.com
