Silence Indicates Tacit Approval

Pierre Tristam makes the point that by not decrying the call "Kill him" directed at Obama at a Palin rally, McCain and Palin are tacitly endorsing such calls. In fact, they have contributed to making such calls possible with their attitude during the campaign, as Frank Rich of the NY Times notes in his weekend column.

We can only hope, as Tristam says to close his opinion piece, that the era of incendiary division that Republicans have used so successfully for the last eight years plus will come to an end on Nov 4.
