Last night, Stephen Colbert closed his show's introduction, as he usually does, with a different, witty one-liner. It said: "If at first you don't succeed, redefine what you did as success." What a fitting capture of the Bush years!
As an added bonus, here is Colbert's opening segment from last night's show. It is entirely devoted to health care and it skewers conservative objections to health care reform with typical, brilliant wit. Colbert and his writers are truly a gift to this realism-impoverished world.
