He will think I am "fucking stupid", because apparently that's how he described dems who attack other dems. And guess what? I don't give a rat's ass. Dems who are doing all they can to derail health care reform are idiots, and so is he for defending them instead of going after them like a rabid dog.
So kudos to the groups running ads like the one below, against Sen. Nelson (D-NE), who is one of the blue dog Democrats threatening to weaken reform beyond uselessness.
And if what the New York Times is reporting today is true, i.e. that Emanuel's boss, our president, gave Big PhRMA's lobbyist Billy Tauzin a "rock solid deal" that the government would not use its clout to negotiate lower prices for drugs, then shame on President Obama, too, because he has let us all down. Because, as William Greider of The Nation wrote, "[t]his is roughly the same deal that George W. Bush cut with the drug makers when he was legislating Medicare's new coverage of drug purchases. It is the same bargain that Democrats in Congress universally condemned as wasteful and corrupt. The deal does not smell any better now that a Democratic president is embracing it." (Emphasis added.)
